Rene Rosario Memorial Scholarship

This GoFundMe is to raise money for a scholarship to be given to a Leominster High School senior under Rene Rosario's name. 

Rene Rosario was a graduate of the Leominster High School class of 2015, who loved lacrosse, football, and theater.  He made close bonds with many of his teachers, and was such a joy to have around the school.  After graduating from LHS, he moved down to LeHigh Acres, Florida to be closer to his family. 

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Leukemia, and his battle lasted all through high school and into college.  After a long five years, he passed away at just 21 years old on July 30th, 2017. 

Rene was one of my best friends since the day I met him in my theater class. We connected the most through my senior year of high school, which is when he moved back to Massachusetts for treatment. After school I would go to see him, and we would watch movies, talk about life, and just enjoy each other's company. Even though he was going through so much in his own life, he was there for not just me but all of his friends as they went through their own issues. Saying that he was a supportive friend simply does not suffice-- he was selfless, compassionate, inspirational, strong, and loving, and I think I can speak for everyone who met him when I say that he was a light in the darkest times. No matter what he was going through, he had a positive outlook for what was to come, and his smile never faded. 

The aim of this scholarship is to keep Rene's name and legacy alive at Leominster High School, and to benefit a graduate of LHS as they move into college. We want to spread his love and light, and hope you can help to make that possible.
