It is with a heavy heart we find ourselves in an unprecedented situation which has resulted in the closure Rendezvous, Saint Lucia. As a result of the increasing COVID-19 pandemic, airlines have made the difficult decision to close off flights coming into Saint Lucia to prevent further spread of the virus. This has meant we have had no choice but to temporarily close our resort. We are doing as much as we can to support the team who work incredibly hard to offer the unique resort experiences you know and love and it is at this time, we reach out to you, our most loved loyal guests, partners and supporters, as we really need your help. This campaign will aid us in supporting 198 team members who have lost their means of income to support their families and livelihood during the resort closure. All funds raised in this campaign will be evenly distributed across the team members as a means of financial support during this uncertain time. We hope to reopen by 1st June, but as we can all appreciate the certainty of this is unsure. We thank you in advance for all of your help and sincerely hope you keep safe and well with you loved ones during this time. We hope to see you again in the future when this pandemic is behind us.
How are we helping?
- We have committed to pay several million dollars over the next two months in forward salaries and holiday accrual.
- Full medical insurance will continue to be paid for team members and their families over this period.
- The care packages distributed to every member of our team contain a donation of fresh produce and
dry goods from our hotel stores which have a value of several hundred thousand dollars.
Due to the global shutdown of tourism, like all hotels in St Lucia, the decision to close our resorts was unavoidable. Although we are supporting as much as we can the effects of the next few months will be felt long after they return to work. This initiative has been inspired by the heart-warming requests from many of our wonderful guests to help the team that have looked after them over the years.
