Surviving a bee attack was just the beginning ...

Hello, friends, Linda has lived in the same house in Murrieta since the early 90s. She is an integral part of the community in this quiet little cul-de-sac, where children play: riding their bikes, playing catch in their front yards, and shooting hoops at the end of their driveways.
But this idyllic scene erupted into a life or death struggle for Linda on June 28 when she was savagely attacked by a massive swarm of bees.* Neighbors were unable to rescue her from the intense attack. Murrieta Fire Dept arrived to render aid but Linda had already been stung over 100 times - and the bees quickly enveloped the first responders in their attack zone. Linda required a trip to the hospital. Doctors spent four hours carefully extracting all the stingers from her hands, face, neck & head. In total: over a thousand stingers were removed from her body and clothing.
Happily, Linda will make a full recovery. Unfortunately, the bees that attacked Linda actually reside within the walls of her own house. What started as an annoyance more than 6 years ago has now become a community health threat that can no longer be ignored.
Linda is beloved in her neighborhood and affectionately known as "the Dog Lady" because of the hundreds of neighborhood dogs she has reunited with their owners when the errant pups have managed to escape their homes or yards. Prior to the pandemic restrictions, Linda served as a volunteer for several years in advocacy groups for youth at risk.
The bees have been neutralized for the present but there is no guarantee that there is not another access point that would allow the hive to recover. Beehive removal of this magnitude is very costly, mostly because of the damage the hives have done to the structure after all this time.
We invite you to help Linda with the removal of the bee hives and repair to her home. Linda lives alone, is on a fixed income and struggles with several physical and mental health conditions that make it impossible for her to undertake this repair project without your help. The estimate is $25K.
