REMEMBRANCE CLIMB FOR HOPE ROSE.
Our beautiful baby girl Hope Rose Caulfield was born on the 4th of September 2017.
Hope Rose had trisomy 18 also known as Edwards syndrome , this is a life limiting condition.
Carrying Hope Rose to full term knowing she would not live long was incredibly difficult but through it we emerged a stronger, more accepting family. Hope Rose touched us deeply and changed us all forever more.
She was a very special little girl, delivered by C section she was born alive on the 4th of September 2017 at 9:53 . In true Hope Rose style she came into this world and graced us with her beauty and presence and left so peacefully on the 12th of September. Miraculously she defied the odds and lived with us for 9 wonderful days. In this time we made memories that will last us a life time.
We were very lucky to be able to bring Hope Rose home for the last days of her life. Unfortunately for many other families this is not the case. At present there is no family bereavement room in Mayo University Hospital for families faced with this unimaginable heartache, having to say hello and goodbye in the same breath. We hope to give families a peaceful, private and comfortable space to meet their precious babies and prepare to say goodbye. Time spent here will help make the most precious of memories, time together as a family, time with family and friends, time that can never be replaced.
Please join us on the 9th of September when we will climb Croagh Patrick. As part of Hope Roses legacy we are hoping to raise much needed funds for this special family bereavement room on the Maternity ward in Mayo University Hospital.
ALL ARE WELCOME TO CLIMB with us as we remember Hope Rose and all of the other precious babies that gained their wings far too soon.
I will be taking an active roll in the development of this special room in Mayo university hospital. All donations greatly appreciated
