Remembering Russ Fisher

On Thursday October 4th Advanced Products lost a co-worker and dear friend Russ Fisher. Russ epitomized the Parker edict of helping all who ask. He felt accountable for anything that happened in this building even if it was not technically his job he would own the task at hand and try to find a solution. He took on those tasks without a complaint. Working to make sure a quality product would ship to the customer.

We will miss talking to Russ about camping, skiing and the Steelers. He put a lot of work into repairing the pop-up camper and was finally looking to buy something that his camping buddies would not tease him about. He would talk about the campfire chats, the hikes and just the camaraderie of those camping trips. He always returned tired, sunburned and relaxed. He planned many skiing trips and no winter was complete until he skied Tuckerman Ravine with his family and came home with a few six packs of Tuckerman's Ale. We would talk about all his trips and time spent with family and friends. We were all a little envious that he was able to make time to take those trips so often. I'm not sure if we envied the trips or the people that got to spend time with Russ.

As many of you know, last year, Russ' name appeared on the monthly company birthday list but on the wrong month. We made a big deal about it and got balloons and decorated his cubicle for the fake birthday and everyone in the company wished him a happy birthday. A couple of months later, we got his name added again. And again everyone stopped to wish him a Happy Birthday and he had to explain it wasn't, much to our amusement. And then we did it again. We planned to do it again coming up.

We would like to set up this GoFundMe page for Russ' family to help assist with expenses and for donations for the ALS Foundation, which was something near and dear to Russ.
