Remembering Randy Baker

My heart is heavy as I set this up this morning, trying to make sense of why. I guess that’s always what your left with in grief, the why. The pain felt today by Randy’s loss is enormous, and I’m hoping to help relieve some of the stress of the financial difficulties that his siblings will face, through burial and final expenses, so they can focus on each other and grieve.  I’d like to share their story, so that you better understand the loss they have endured together and strength that make them the amazing people they are. Matt, Nishana, Jake, Chelsey, Randy and Mari have been the perfect example of what love and family is all about.  In 2004, their mother Diane passed away suddenly, leaving their dad to care for all 6 kids. As the oldest girl, Nishauna stepped up and became the mother figure to her siblings(I know her mother is so proud of the mom and woman she has become). Diane passed away Christmas Eve which turned the holidays into a time of grief. Just two years later their dad Randy Sr. passed away on Mother’s Day, in a motorcycle accident. He was a great man and an amazing dad. After their father passed away, these siblings were separated for years, and have literally had to fight their way back to each other. They were blessed with the love, support and guidance from their Aunt Jan.  With her help and their love for their parents and for each other  they found the strength to endure the separation and fight for their right to be a family again. After a long journey, and never giving up, they finally reunited. They’ve worked the last couple years on making up for lost time, and getting to know each other again, their bond has become stronger than ever. It has been beautiful seeing them finally together and living the life they should have always had. I can’t help but imagine their parents smiling down with pride, seeing the family they created.  Then February of last year, Matt passed away from a heart defect. He is the oldest brother and the male backbone to this family. They were left with grief, pain and the responsibility of making sure he was laid to rest.  This journey has been an emotional roller coaster for them, which is what makes this part even harder to say, the reason for this campaign... yesterday afternoon Randy Jr. was killed on his motorcycle. He was 20 years young and the “man of the family”. He took on the responsibility of helping take care of his siblings and would do anything for anyone. He is a spitting image of his father, by looks and by heart. He loved big and his siblings were his world. This family has been through so much loss, they have known struggle and pain beyond what any family should ever go through. Through every loss, every battle, every bit of pain... they’ve stayed strong and loved each other more. I think it’s time they are given the same love and support that they always give. So if you can help, please do. Donate. Say a prayer. Share this fund. Give them words of encouragement. Anything helps.  We may never understand the why, Because this kind of loss can never make sense, but at least we can say “you are not in this alone”. Rest In Peace Randy ❤️ You are so loved, and so missed. #Baker6
