Remembering Lolita

Dear Friends, Family and Visitors,
My name is Nebojsa Nick Dimovski. As some of you know, my dear sister, Lolita Dimovski passed away on 8/13/17 after courageously battling cervical cancer. Her loss has been devastating, leaving many of us heartbroken with shock and grief.
While on this earth Lolita touched many lives in beneficial and altruistic ways. Even near the end of her life, as she laid in the hospital, she wanted to help others. Lolita requested that any money collected during her funeral be donated to three places: Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, MI; St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Church in Detroit, MI; and to the homeless of Detroit.
At Lolita’s funeral, as I searched for something to make sense of this tragic loss, I became determined to honor her final wishes. As some of you know Lolita liked to do things in big ways and now I am asking you to fulfill her last requests in a big way. I am asking you, whether you are friend, family or visitor to donate to this fund. The donations will be collected and split evenly among St. Lazarus Church, Karmanos Cancer Hospital and two major homeless shelters: Covenant House Michigan and Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeast Michigan.
St. Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Church in Detroit, MI has been serving the Orthodox community of southeast Michigan since the 1930’s. Lolita was a dedicated, active member of the church community. St. Lazarus is largely financed and supported by donations. The Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, MI is the largest cancer research and provider network in Michigan. Karmanos is recognized as one of the nation’s best cancer centers and offers one of the largest clinical trials programs anywhere in the country. These trials offer new treatments essential to saving more lives. Karmanos is supported by thousands of volunteers and financial donors. For Lolita’s request to help the homeless this fund will donated evenly among two of the most well-known, reputable organizations in Detroit, Michigan: Covenant House Michigan and Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeast Michigan. Between these two organizations tens of thousands of men, women and children receive food, shelter, educational support, work training and healthcare assistance every year. Lolita, a native Detroit area resident, loved the region and its people. Many times she told me how she dreamed of providing large donations to fellow Detroit residents in need.
