Donna was a dear friend to some, a mother to others (her children, ages 15, 16, 17, 28, and 29 -- and all of her honorary children), an advisor to others, and taught us all how to live and love fiercely. She fought for her family whenever they needed it, including those that were honorary family members. It was absolutely impossible to come to Donna's house in peace without being made to feel like a longtime friend. In times of need, Donna was a shoulder, wise counsel, and above all... a mom when it was needed (and even when it wasn't a spoken or known need).
To me, she was my second mom. From the very first time I met Donna, she treated me as a son and made me a part of her family. No matter what I needed or did, she was there to make sure I knew that I was family. I'm every grateful for her welcoming dinner table (also a place to conference with her), the opportunity to know her, and to be a part of her family.
Sadly, Donna, a deeply beloved mother of five of her own children and several honorary children, passed on Monday evening (1-8-2018). As we say goodbye to a wonderful and amazing person, we work to make sure things are the way Donna would want them: a celebration with as little added pressure on the family as possible. Donations will aid with the medical bills, a memorial service, and all costs associated with the funeral. Her beloved husband will receive funds to use towards these aspects and to ensure her family has support in this difficult time, and all remaining funds will go to assist Donna's children
