Remembering and Honoring Elizabeth Placencio

It's with a heavy heart and still feels like a bad dream I can't wake up from, our sister, friend, colleague, teacher, and mentor, Liz Placencio died this evening from complications from her battle we all knew she was fighting.
Liz’s whole world was her family and school family, her husband Patrick and her daughter Bella have been struggling through this, however, staying strong for each other.
Liz was not just a wife and mother, she was a daughter, sister, aunt, friend and teacher. She has made so many differences in the lives of so many students and many people who had the opportunity and privilege to meet her!! She would give you the shirt off of her own back if you needed it, now her family needs us more than ever.
Liz has been a teacher for 20 plus years, Mesa Middle School is where she has been for the last eleven years. Liz is family to the Mesa Rattlers and has dedicated herself to her media students and school.
I also know that we will each process this in our own way, but that doesn't mean that we must do it alone. We're here for each other, to talk, sit in silence and just be there for each other or have people available to talk with us, please just reach out.
The things I know Liz would want, is for us to continue to do what we all do best, be there for our students, each other, our Mesa Community, and also continue to make Mesa a great place to be for everyone!!
We're asking that you please help support her family by any donation possible, I know her family would appreciate it. All the love and support from everyone has truly been a blessing. Liz was such a loving and giving person, she was loved by all because of her loving heart and positive spirit, she always had a smile on her face!
