Remembering A Hero: SGT Johnson

Sgt. LaDavid Johnson, a native of Miami Gardens, Florida, was one of the four soldiers who were killed during an attack in West Africa. Sgt. Johnson body was recovered 48 hours after the ambush took place. He died of wounds received when enemies attacked his unit while conducting operations in Niger.

Johnson enlisted in the Army as a wheeled vehicle mechanic in January 2014, according to U.S. Army Special Operations Command. His awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Parachutist Badge, the Army Air Assault Badge, the Driver and Mechanic Badge and the Marksmanship Qualification Badge - Sharpshooter with Rifle.
Sgt. LaDavid Johnson leaves behind his beautiful wife Myeshia Johnson, two children, and their unborn child. He was a devoted husband and father who was committed to give them his all. His drive and determination was created without selfishness. He did it for his family first and he enjoyed the beauty of watching his family grow together.
Sgt. LaDavid Johnson was also known as the "Wheelie King 305" back in his home town. He even brought his "305" style to Fort Bragg, North Carolina (where he was stationed) and made social media headlines.
Sgt. Johnson was a man of many talents and skills; He loved working on cars, disco jockey, couponing, football, riding dirt bikes, and four wheelers, and just having fun in life. He was a caring man who would give you the shirt off his back. If he could help you, he wouldn’t hesitate to do so. Everything he did, he did it with love, dedication, and all with a smile. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in uniform.
Sgt. LaDavid Johnson blessed the world with his talents, his personality, and most importantly with the ultimate sacrifice, his life. He died fighting for his country. He sacrificed his life for our freedom. If you can help, please donate any amount of your choice it would be greatly appreciated.
