Relief for Tricia and Gary

Last week as my husband Gary was pulling into work, he noticed that his usual path through the parking lot was blocked. He was forced to take a different turn and in doing so, side swiped a pole that was in his blind spot. Thankfully Gary wasn’t hurt, but the car was. Needless to say, it needs to be fixed and we’ve been told it could take anywhere from three weeks to three months until it’s done. They say they’ll know better once the insurance adjuster takes a look. Now for most people that would be an inconvenience, but it’s a lot more than that for us. I use that car for my job driving for Uber and Lyft. Without it, I can’t make any money to help pay our monthly bills. We live paycheck to paycheck as it is, so Gary has also been driving for Uber and Lyft when he isn’t busy at his regular job as a restaurant manager.
Unlike Gary, this is my only job. Since 2015 I haven’t been able to keep a job for very long because of my battle with overwhelming and debilitating anxiety and depression. I have struggled with this illness most of my life and work hard every day to deal with it, but it only seems to get worse. I can’t begin to describe what I go through or what it feels like when I have to do something outside of my comfort zone. Even interacting with people I know causes me incredible anxiety. Gary has always been there to support and encourage me and does everything he can to make life easier. For him I am forever grateful. Some days are better than others, but it is a constant battle.
At this point, we don’t know what else to do. We have nothing left in savings to fall back on and have exhausted every idea we can think of to make enough money to pay our bills. So we’re asking for your help. We need to make up the money we’re losing while we’re waiting for our car to be fixed. Between the two of us, that’s roughly $500 per week. We don’t know how long it’s going to take to get back on the road, especially because of the holiday, but we’re hoping for the best. We appreciate anything you can do to help.
