Relief for the Atwell family

Two weeks ago, my step-sister (Ashley Atwell), my niece (Annaway Mackey) , her friend (Sarah Gonzales), and my nephew (CJ, the baby) were shot. Ashley, Annaway, and Sarah are dead. CJ is in the hospital, recovering, he’s under the protective custody of the state right now. My other nephew, Lee Jr, got away after begging for his life.

Yesterday, my birth mother died, I imagine partly from the shock. We are 3k short of enough funds to bury Ashley and Annaway. We are 5k or so short burying Sarah.

This fundraiser is for funeral expenses for Ashley, Annaway, Diane, and Sarah, as well as for future medical expenses and adoption expenses for baby CJ. Anything left will go into a trust fund for both boys, CJ and Little Lee, to help them navigate the world as they grow up without their mother and sister.

Update: We have enough to finish paying the funeral home for Ashley and Annaway. I will post another update after funds are transferred (this can take up to a week) and I have made the payment.

Update 2: We are 3k short on my birth mother Diane’s funeral costs. Settling the estate will be another 2-4k, exact costs unknown.
