Reid's Research Fund
Donation protected
The brothers of SAE are raising money in honor of a son of an alumnus of our chapter, Reid Underwood. He suffers from a condition called Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB), a rare skin disease with no known cure. Besides the 15% going towards winning sororites, the rest of the raised money will be going towards helping Reid. The philanthropy will be for the University of Minnesota Foundation rather than Reid himself, but will benefit him as the money is being used to fund a research trial that he would benefit from. His doctor needs a lot of money to start as the FDA teams that have to be involved are very expensive. This is real research on gene editing that is proven to work, but due to funding, his doctor is unable to start a trial.
