Rehab Expenses for Bruce

Donation protected
In May of 2017, Bruce Benninghoff was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure at 54 y/o. His condition was so dire, that his Physicians were perplexed on how he was still alive. He had inoperable damage to a main artery and was monitored 24/7 with a vest that was also set to send a shock if his heart were to stop beating.
After beginning a new regiment of meds, Bruce started experiencing dizziness and was noticeably unbalanced and clumsy. He made numerous trips and phone calls to his doctors regarding these side effects. Unfortunately, these complaints fell on seemingly deaf ears and went unanswered. Due to the nature of his work, he was unable to perform his daily tasks and he humbly stepped down. Leaving his wife as the only income. Trying to make ends meet with bills, from a 2 income family to one, they were running into financial hardship. Struggling daily to make ends meet. In November, Bruce started falling. Again, calls were made and an appointment was made.
IN FEBURARY!!
On Dec 3rd, he suffered another fall, but this time, he hit his head. Hours later, he began vomitting and had to be rushed to the ER. There they took a CT scan, were they found extensive bleeding in the back and right side of his head. He was immediately flown to U of L.
Although the best option, they were unable to do surgery because of the severity of his heart condition. They instead were hopefull they could stop the bleeding/pressure with meds. He spent 6 days in the Nero ICU.
Due to the blood on the brain, there was apparent deficits in the left side of his body. He underwent extensive physical therapy 6 times a day for 12 days at Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital in New Albany, In. Being the holidays, he was eager to get home. Although his therapist reccomended he stay, she agreed to realease him on the terms he'd come back 3 times a week to continue working on Neuro rehab and strength.
I am starting this account because as you can imagine, the cost involved with his care is extensive. The rehab facility alone costs approx. $900 per week. His wife has had to take an unpaid leave of absence to care for him leaving no income at all. She is doing everything she can with resources local, but it's not enough.
This is a family that has worked their entire lives, and now, because doctors wouldn't listen, they are in jepordy of losing everything. And not getting the therapy Bruce needs! Please find it in you heart to donate! Anything will help! We need Bruce back!
God bless you!
