Regan is my brother but a friend to all. He's never met a stranger and wouldn't turn down a soul that needed help. His heart is huge but is hurting. Not hurting like the massive surgeries necessary when he was young as evidenced by the scars down his chest, but the pain that comes from the death of a father, sudden loss of a signficant other, crushing medical debt, and multiple losses of jobs and moves. Yes, everyone carries a heavy burden. Life is hard. However, his hardships are accommpained with one of the most common genetic diseases associated with congenitial heart defects - a rare (ocurring in just 1:1000 - 1:2000 live births) genetic disorder called Noonen syndrome. Noonen's is characterized with facial anomalies, short stature, webbed neck, and chest deformity. Puberty is delayed, fertility is most often impacted in males, speech delays are typicaly, vision and hearing can be impacted, and in the Regan's case cognitive delays exists.
He's a warrior and has struggled to overcome much but currently faces a battle in which he needs our help. With upwards of over $30, 000 in medical debt, limited earning capacity, vehicle after vehicle that has broken down, declined Social Security Income, untreated depression, and loss of current job, he faces more than he can bear alone.
GoFunds collected here would go towards attorney fees for filing bankruptcy, appeal of SSI disability decision, and necessary SSI disability psychological evaluation.
These funds will be managed directly by me. If there were to be any remaining funds, then these would go towards counseling services for Regan.
With his last day of work being March 9, these funds are needed immediately to help resolve some of his burden and move towards not only financial recovery but a healed heart. If you are unable to give, then please pray for Regan. With no doubt, he will face further heart surgeries plus curve balls that are all thrown our way.
