Refuge for Immigrants in Piedras Negras, Mexico

(11-17-19: We've received an additional $733.00 in cash donations which brings this campaign total to $  1,383.00)

Bridges of Compassion is campaigning to support a mission/refuge for displaced immigrants and families in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. With the onset of caravans arriving at border cities and small groups arriving daily, the humanitarian need is great.

We have known the mission founder, Pastor Luis Torres, for nearly ten years and have provided supplemental support to his work as God has allowed. Seeing his consistent effort to care for and serve this special group of people has been a great source of inspiration.

We have received a distinct call from God to come alongside Pastor Luis to help him construct a new, fully functional refuge on his property, assisting him with the overall development and administration of the mission, the organization of local and outside volunteers, and promotion of the project both in the U.S. and Mexico to secure construction and operating costs.

This particular campaign is Phase One of the project: help to provide more bedding, blankets, warm clothing, space heaters and at minimum a better temporary shelter solution from the approaching colder weather. Equally immediate is the need for the construction of separate bathrooms for men and women. There are approximately 25 men and  4 families with children currently residing at the small mission, Refugio Rey de Reyes, with more arriving nearly every day.
