Refugee Family of 3 In Need of Housing Assistance

Tax deductible
V (29), C (28) and their daughter E (9) left Haiti about seven years ago. V, the husband/dad, used to be a primary school teacher in Haiti and a regular preacher in their church. C, his wife, loves to cook and has filled their Host Home with delicious meals.

In one month, they traveled through ten countries before arriving in Mexico, going by car, foot, and bus. At one point, they had to trek through the jungle between Columbia and Panama, facing multiple dangers, including gangs, panthers, and pit vipers.

E would often struggle during the journey, getting fevers and gastro-illnesses, but her parents said she got stronger as the trip went on and God helped them. Finally, they arrived in Tijuana, where they stayed in a refugee camp called Haiti City for the past year. The family has found refuge in the U.S. and has been staying in a Host Home for the last month. Despite all they’ve been through, they remain hopeful, healthy and upbeat.

The Refugia Foundation is fundraising for 3 months rent + security deposit for this family of 3 in Southern California. All donations go directly to the family’s housing needs.
