On March 18th, The Refuge, like every other Restaurant in South Carolina, was forced to close its dining room and bar to convert to to-go and delivery service only. This crippling blow to the restaurant industry has far reaching and unforeseen consequences. As a result, we have had to lay off all of our servers, bartenders, food runners, baristas and 80% of the kitchen staff. This has been a difficult time for everyone and we are truly heartbroken. We are doing everything we can to keep our doors open. Our remaining staff has volunteered to work for half of their normal pay and some are even donating their time for free to keep operating.
The Refuge has always been a gathering place for the amazing local residents of Isle of Palms. We love making you delicious and creative food, mixing and pouring your martinis and beers, and generally just laughing and having a great time with all of you. Our business is built on the kindness and compassion of our employees. They are now in a time of immense need. This fund has been established to provide immediate relief to our employees. No donation is too small and 100% of donations will go directly to the employees of The Refuge to help ease their struggles until this pandemic passes and to keep the restaurant running so we can all have a place to return to. These are the times when we all need to band together and help in every way we can. Every dollar matters and we greatly appreciate anything you can give!

$2500 - A private cocktail party for yourself and 20 guests either in your home or in The Refuge Coffee Bar Private Space ( beer, wine, and a custom cocktail plus appetizers included)
$5000 - 5 private cooking classes for 6 people in the comfort of your home from Chef Jason Daly ( each will be 3-4 hours long and custom crafted to teach you what you would like to learn! Each class will compose of an appetizer, entree, and dessert)
