Reforestation of the Atlantic Forest

This January I will turn 30 and instead of party or presents I would love to rise funds to start my reforestation project in the south Brazil. Me and my partner assigned 4 hectares that we would like to fully recover to the original state and let it be.

During the colonisation and urbanization times the land has been exploited and many plants as Pau-Brasil, Araucaria, Canela- Sassafras, Ipe-Peroba has extincted. Together with the Reforestation Institute in Curitiba, that grows Araucarias back in the labs, its possible to return them into the nature. Atlantic Forest has been devastated because most of Brazilian cities is placed around the coast. Why do we need those trees ?

(Giant) trees help with CO2 emission as well as regulate moisture and temperature on our planet as well as it gives shelter for the large variaty of fauna. Basically we need them to survive here!!

I am going to name the trees after the donor. It will be possible to visit the place in the future and check how is your personal tree growing.
