Redfern Family Fund

Our dear friend, devoted husband, father and pastor, Chuck Redfern, was diagnosed 32 years ago with tongue cancer at the age of 31. After surgery and radiation it was eradicated.  27 years later it returned and Chuck went through extensive surgery to excise and reconstruct his tongue, followed by chemotherapy, radiation, more surgery and experimental treatments.

The past 5 years have been medically and financially challenging for Chuck. Many friends generously contributed to this fundraising campaign when it was initiated. Chuck and his family were so grateful. 

Recently, the cancer returned with a vengeance, and Chuck developed pneumonia for which he was taken by ambulance to the hospital on August 16. When his condition deteriorated the following day, he was transferred to the ICU at Hartford Hospital. Sadly, on the afternoon of August 23, Chuck passed  away with his family by his side.      

Now they are faced with bills to cover the medical and funeral expenses. So I am renewing the request that Chuck and Andrea's friends and community once again generously consider helping Chuck's family. Your donations will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small.

Chuck devoted his life to improving the lives of others. He believed fervently in concepts of environmental protection. Should you choose to honor Chuck's memory, Andrea suggested that donations be made to Care of Creation  whose mission, which Chuck believed in strongly, is to protect people and the planet.
