Recovery Fund For Zach & Jacob

Donation protected

On January 5th 2021 at approximately 4:30 pm the unthinkable happened to Zach Pugh and Jacob Locke.

Less then one block way from home, they were in a tragic head on collision.
In Zach’s small 2006 Honda Civic coupe.
Both boys endured significant injuries and were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Jacob braced himself in that split second for what he saw coming towards him.
A gold Chevy SUV hit them head on at over 50 mph running through the red light.
After the collision Jacob looked over at Zach in the diver seat.
Jacob was dazed, confused, both covered in blood, watching his best friend seizing out.
The car was so badly crumbled that Jacob had trouble getting out of the car.
All he remembers is finally getting the door open and falling into a pile of gasoline that has leaked out of the car from the impact.

Zach’s injuries include a compound fracture to the tibia and fibula breaking through the skin leaving him with a titanium rod, staples and over 200 stitches in his leg.
Zach’s forearm was also compounded. The bone went through the top of the elbow breaking through the skin. His ulna is snapped in half. Zach now has a titanium rod holding his arm together with 8 screws.

Jacob’s head was lacerated including a concussion, collapsed lung and fractured ribs. Both boys are covered in cuts and bruises from the broken glass and airbags releasing. Jacob and Zach have a long road to recovery.
Not only physically and emotionally but financially as well.

Jacob has had dreams of being a professional golfer his entire life.
At a very young age he pursued his passion. Due to these injuries golf does not look promising in the near future. Jacob can hardly walk and has trouble breathing.

Zach is also in the same situation.
He has no health insurance due to job cuts when covid started.
Zach worked at ICE as an IT Tech for many years.
Zach’s vehicle was his only way to make a living. Driving for Uber and DoorDash was the only thing he could find due to this pandemic.
It is unknown at this time if the other driver had auto insurance.
Zach is finally out of the hospital in excruciating pain.
Now not being able to work, drive, having a totaled car, the financial burdens are very detrimental.

These 23 year old young men with big dreams do not know what the future holds for them.
With these major setbacks their goals in life are at a standstill.

This entire situation is painful, tragic and stressful.
It is truly a miracle that they both survived.
At this time anything will helps tremendously and
we welcome all prayers!
On behalf of Zach and Jacob thank you for taking the time to read their story.
