Recovery for Mama Bear

Donation protected

Mama Bear was found a few years ago roaming the streets with a 6 week old puppy. Someone adopted the puppy but I kept the mother dog until I could find her a home. I didn’t want to get “too attached” to the mama dog...so I just called her Mama Dog. Well, as you can guess I got quite attached to her kind, gentle, and happy self and to this day I still have Mama Dog...now called Mama Bear. She is literally the best pup. However, something terrible happened earlier this week. Early Monday morning she was attacked by either other dogs or more likely coyotes. She was chewed up VERY badly. Her ears and front legs took most of the damage. I can’t express how bad her wounds are but somehow she survived...but just barely. She has been at Tennessee Valley Animal Clinic ever since I rushed her there the moment I found her. She’s been in great hands and has been fighting for her life. She seemed to have pulled through but I received news today that one of her front legs was too badly mauled to be saved and had to be amputated. She still has a very long and painful road ahead with more surgeries in her future. As you can imagine, the financial burden will end up being quite significant, so any amount you could give would be GREATLY appreciated. I just want to see her well and back home. From now on she will be an INSIDE dog. Safe and sound, curled up on the couch.

I will post updates as we learn more. Thank you.

Here’s a few pics of the sweetie and a few of her the day after the attack.
