Recovery Centered Living

Would you like to join us in holding space for people in recovery? We're raising money for Recovery Centered Living to expand to a second home. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause & mission it means a lot for the dreams for RCL to continue! Recovery Centered Living is a Recovery Residence for men choosing a new way of life. We are geared towards helping men coming out of short term and longterm treatment provide a safe, sober, clean, and spiritual environment, while learning to be productive members of society and improving their quality of life. Our model offers a peer-led environment where we all have lived experience and inspire hope strength and courage in one another. There are 11 beds at our current house and we have managed to remain full most of the time which is beautiful, On the flip side of that are the calls we get most every day that are from people seeking exactly the type of culture and environment that RCL has a brotherhood and family-oriented home. Unfortunately, we do not have the beds, space, or capacity most days to bring in the people calling and we do our best to help them find another safe sober environment when we could not provide one due to capacity. RCL has been searching for the next home for over a year and been met with stigmatized no’s at every turn. We have not lost one ounce of faith or trust that the perfect home would show itself in time and that it would be spirit led.  With that being said we are happy to share that we have met a homeowner who likes helping people too. This homeowner has something in common with many of us here at RCL and has a home they would like to rent that will have a meditation center open for them to use and to share with RCL as we coexist on this property, they will use it 3 times a week 2 hours a day leaving open the rest of that time for us to use for our house meetings and other recovery led meetings and meditation It happens to be around the corner from our current home and is almost too good to be true. RCL’s hope is to raise enough funds to pay for 2 to 3 months of rent and also have some leftover for certain household goods that we have not already procured. Bedding, dishes, housewares, furniture, and house supplies are needed to get our new house open for men coming in from the throws of addiction into the responsible world of recovery. RCL provides a safe, nontoxic supporting brotherhood that encourages accountability and integrity.  Our homes provide internet, a house PC, and cable TV. We are dedicated to helping our brothers in any way we can to help them know they are supported, encouraged, and part of the ever-growing recovery community here in Austin. Turning on utilities, securing services, and providing what's needed to make a house a home can invite huge costs to a small upstart business so reaching out during these uncertain times is uncomfortable but necessary for us to continue our mission of helping others. No shame in asking, just a gentle request for help so we can help others. We currently have almost all the furniture needed in storage minus a couple of XL twin beds. The new house will hold 9 men ( 1 manager and 8 members ). We are so excited and looking forward to this new part of the RCL mission and journey.
