Upcycle Plastic Waste to EcoWood in DR Congo

RecoPlast Congo is a Congolese start-up operating in the plastic waste upcycling sector by turning plastic waste into plastic beams: a perfect alternative to ordinary wood and an essential product to fight against deforestation.

The ecological beams produced by RecoPlast Congo called "Ecowood" can be used to make durable and affordable chairs, tables, pallets and anything that ordinary wood can make.

RecoPlast Congo was founded based on the increasing number of untreated plastic waste in the City of Kinshasa in the DR Congo.

We have produced our first prototype of EcoWood. Our goal of $2500 will support our 2nd phase of operating status by upskilling and employing local workforce, investing in safety equipment and meeting operational demand.

RecoPlast Congo is founded by YALI fellow Eric Casinga, is incubated by The Embassy of the Netherlands Orange Corners, and received Phase 1 seed funding by the National Assembly of DRC.

RecoPlast Congo est une start-up congolaise opérant dans le secteur de la revalorisation des déchets plastiques en transformant les déchets plastiques en poutres et planches écologiques, une alternative parfaite au bois ordinaire et un produit indispensable pour lutter contre la déforestation.

Les poutres écologiques produites par RecoPlast Congo appelées «Ecowood» peuvent être utilisées pour fabriquer des chaises, des tables, des palettes et tout ce que le bois ordinaire peut fabriquer.

RecoPlast Congo a été fondée sur base du nombre croissant de déchets plastiques non traités dans la ville de Kinshasa en RD Congo.

Nous avons déjà produit notre premier prototype d'Ecobois. Notre objectif de 2500 $ appuiera notre deuxième phase de l'état d'exploitation en améliorant les compétences et en employant de la main-d'œuvre locale, en investissant dans l'équipement de sécurité et en répondant à la demande opérationnelle.

RecoPlast Congo est fondé par Eric Casinga, ancien boursier de YALI, est incubé par l'ambassade des Pays-Bas Orange Corners et a reçu un financement de démarrage de la phase 1 de l'Assemblée nationale de la RDC.
