Recharge with Art: EV Charging Station Fundraiser
The KMA is installing an electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the Museum’s parking lot, in a collaborative effort with Bedford 2030, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat climate change, and to provide cleaner air for all. Once installed, we encourage you to use the charging station, either as a visitor to the Museum or as a member of the general public. A majority of the costs are being funded by grants from NYSERDA and NYSEG, in addition to a generous donor one to one match to our GoFundMe campaign. Your help is needed to cover the remaining costs of the project as we work to offer EV owners more options for charging. Support climate action in the Katonah community today for a greener tomorrow.
Bedford 2030’s new climate action plan sets the ambitious goal of reducing our Town’s greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2030. Transportation accounts for 48% of our Town’s emissions, making the electrification of vehicles in our community an important priority. A crucial step to making this transition possible is to make using electric vehicles easy and convenient by increasing accessibility to charging stations throughout our community. The KMA charging station will provide low cost vehicle charging and serve as a signal of our Town’s commitment to taking Climate Action Now.
