Rebuilding Hope: Support Mohammed's Family to Rise from the Ashes of War.
Hello everyone,
In the heart of Palestine - Gaza, resided a beacon of creativity and hope, Mohammed Sami Qaraiqa. A young artist at the mere age of 24, Mohammed's life was a canvas of dreams, painted with aspirations for a brighter future for himself and those he held dear. His work, a testament to his talent, graced social media platforms and local art exhibitions in Gaza, capturing the essence of resilience and beauty amidst adversity. Mohammed yearned for the world to witness his art, to see beyond the confines of conflict, and to recognize the universal language of creativity.
But on October 17, 2023, tragedy struck. While Mohammed was spearheading an initiative to bring joy to the displaced children of Al-Ahli Al-Muqdami Hospital, documenting the smiles he could bring to their faces on his Instagram, a place where he connected with a global audience, his life was abruptly and cruelly taken by an Israeli airstrike. This heinous act not only robbed Mohammed of his future but also cast a shadow of despair over his family. The very next day, our home, a sanctuary of memories and dreams, was obliterated, erasing the physical traces of Mohammed and our father, who we had lost four years prior.
Amidst the ruins of our once warm home, we find ourselves displaced, seeking refuge first in Khan Younis and now in Rafah, battling the relentless cold and the harsh reality of our situation in a tent that scarcely shields us from the elements.
In these darkest of times, we cling to the hope that humanity's collective compassion can light our way through this tunnel. Every donation, no matter its size, is a step towards rebuilding our shattered lives, a gesture of solidarity that tells us we are not alone in our grief and our struggle for a semblance of normalcy.
We ask you to share Mohammed's story, to help his dreams and the dreams of his family find root in a reality far kinder than the one that has been thrust upon us. Your support offers more than just material aid; it extends a lifeline of hope, a promise that even in the most devastating of circumstances, renewal is possible.

Dear all,
Mohammed's family has shown me an unparalleled level of kindness as we work together on a venture to conserve and promote Mohammed's art. Their son, brother, and friend, Mohammed was an extremely talented artist whose work captured the complicated, beautiful experience of living in Gaza. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and trauma they have experienced in losing him. However, even during extremely tough times they have shown me extraordinary patience and compassion. Despite the unhappy conditions we have met under, they have become dear friends to me. Everyday I find myself waiting for their messages when (and if) they can find a few minutes of connection so I can check that they are safe. However, Gaza is no longer liveable and the conditions only continue to go from worse to worse. Any donation will go towards helping them to get to safety and in rebuilding their lives. I pray for the day where they are no longer in danger - I hope you can help me achieve this.
