Gaza's Cry for Help: A Plea to Save Families – You

My name is Heba, and I am reaching out to you from Canada with a plea that carries the weight of desperation and a fervent hope for a better future. The past four months have been a tumultuous journey for my family, one that we never anticipated would stretch on for so long due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. In our pursuit to shield our loved ones from the horrors of war, I have turned to GoFundMe as a last resort.

The toll of this prolonged conflict has been devastating. We have lost cherished friends and relatives, and now, I fear for the safety and well-being of my own family. The lives of my three brothers Mahmoud, Belal, and Abd el Rahman hang in the balance, having been displaced multiple times, first to Khan Younis, AL maghazi, and then to Rafah. The daily threats they face, coupled with the harsh realities of life, have compelled me to seek your support in helping them leave Gaza.

Mahmoud, a graduate in business administration, worked in our family's poultry business, overseeing marketing and accounting. His dream of a summer wedding in 2024 and the establishment of his home now seem distant under the devastating impact of war. Belal, a commerce graduate, aspired to open his own small restaurant, fuelled by his culinary prowess and a desire to be the chef in his establishment. Abd el Rahman, a graduate in accounting, found work as a cashier to support his education and earn a bachelor's degree. These dreams, once within reach, have become almost unreal under the weight of the conflict.

The stark reality is that they require 20233 CAD for a safe exit from Gaza through the Rafah crossing, an additional 1500 CAD for essential living expenses in Egypt, Once the application is processed approximately we need 6070 CAD for travel from Egypt to Canada.

I am also extending my plea to aid my aunt's family – Reem, Nayel, Mohammed, Shorouk, and Dania.

Displaced and having lost everything, they find themselves in Rafah, enduring a harsh and difficult life. Dania is an outstanding computer engineering student seeking to continue her studies outside Gaza and build a better life for herself. Her brother Mohammed is also well qualified and has a scholarship for a Ph.D. in chemical engineering in Romania. He is stranded in Gaza while he was visiting his family there, yearning to continue his studies for a future of success.

Dania urgently needs 5,000 CAD to complete her education. The family requires 33,730 CAD for a safe exit from Gaza to Egypt, 2000 CAD for transportation and essentials in Egypt, and 1,500 CAD for five months' rent to forge a new beginning.

My husband and I have exhausted all avenues to support them, including applying for Canadian Visas to help them flee the war. Despite our efforts, the challenges persist, and now, I turn to you with the hope that your generosity can be the beacon of light these families desperately need.

The two families urgently need approximately 70,033 CAD for a safe exit from Gaza to Egypt and eventually to Canada when they get their Visas. This fund will cover the cost of their travel from Gaza to Egypt, the cost of living while they are in Egypt waiting for their visas, including accommodation and other essentials, and finally the cost of travel from Egypt to Canada including but not limited to tickets, and house rental for their early arrival.

I am hopeful for your compassion and generosity in donating, thereby saving these two families from the brink of despair and providing them with an opportunity to seek refuge in safety. Your support is a lifeline and a testament to the collective strength of human kindness.
