FLOOD RELIEF FOR MY FAMILY

I’m writing this statement about my family with a humble and heavy heart. We are a very proud family. We usually try to do things on our own, but now, we are in need of help. My grandparents and aunt live in Port Arthur, Texas, the entire town was effected by floods as a result of Hurricane Harvey. My family has lost everything in their homes including their cars. My grandparents got out of the house with only the clothes on their backs. My aunt was able to leave with one pair of jeans and two shirts.
Our family has gathered over the last two weekends to remove everything from both homes. My grandparents have lived in their home for over 50 years, so it’s hard hearing them say “save as much as you can” when you know that it's impossible.
We have removed sheetrock and carpet from their homes to let them dry out. Our goal with this campaign is to get them back in their homes, even if it means putting up sheetrock to make it somewhat livable again. Please help in any way that you can.
I will be withdrawing the money raised through my personal account and am distrubuting 100% of the funds directly to my grandparents.
We are truly blessed that no lives were lost! These may be hard times, but one thing our family will always have is love. We have learned to laugh through the unlaughable, sing without music, and dance without any sense of rythym . We thank God every day for that joy! Amidst this storm we do see the incredible sunlight that seems to be shining our way!
