Rebuild Vunidamoli Village, Fiji

Donation protected
Vunidamoli Rehabilitation Drive is raising money to rebuild the village of Vunidamoli, Fiji. The village was hit by Tropical Cyclone Yasa on December 17th and 18th. Out of 29 homes, 2 were completely flattened, 15 sustained damage beyond repair, and 13 will need extensive repairs.

TC Yasa has devastated the lives of our loved ones. It has deprived them of their livelihood, cutting away their main source of income (coconuts), destroyed their homes with all their belongings, farms and gardens, and damaged the infrastructure of roads and drinking water. All donations and funds received will be used to immediately restore their lives and wellbeing, giving them hope, especially for the youth and children who make up 52 percent of the village population.

Your kind donations, generosity, compassion and love will directly have an impact on these vulnerable lives on edge and make a difference. Your giving is an opportunity to allow our loved ones to rise above their struggles.

Thank you!

About TC Yasa:

On the evening of December 17, 2020, Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Yasa made landfall on the island of Vanua Levu. It brought sustained winds of 220-230 km/h (140mph) and gusts of up to 345 km/hr (215mph).

Who We Are:

The Vunidamoli Rehabilitation Committee is seeking to fund a self-help initiative (rather than depend on unreliable government assistance). We are a committee of villagers who now reside outside the village, but continue to consider the village our home. We all have loved ones who still live there who have been traumatized by the devastating damage done by TC Yasa. We would love to help them rebuild and rehabilitate their lives. Every dollar donated will go directly toward building supplies, food, and other things necessary to rebuild the Village.

We are so very grateful for your help.
