Rebuild & Restock Sled Dog Kennel

As many of our two legged supporters now know, tragedy paid us a visit yesterday (January 23rd, 2022). Our warming room (which houses our soft gear, dog records, retail items, various doggie supplies, etc.) caught fire in the evening (we suspect it was caused by the small woodstove that keeps the area warm and dry).

One doggie has crossed the rainbow bridge. To say she will be missed is the understatement of the century. Another athlete has experienced extreme smoke inhalation and we are still learning what this may mean for his long-term health.

We are eternally grateful to the Jefferson Fire Department for coming to our rescue as quickly and swiftly as they did. Truly amazing people.

We have been humbled and also admittedly a bit overwhelmed by all of the requests to donate and help support our two and four legged family. To help keep things as streamlined and easy as possible, we started this GoFundMe campaign. Our goal is to get the doggies back to doing what they love the most, RUNNING, as soon as possible. Any proceeds raised will go towards rebuilding and replacing the gear and supplies lost and any vet bills that may result from the fire. We are still assessing the damage and sifting through the items that have been burned. We will keep you all updated as we learn more and can better wrap our heads around everything. As we replace and rebuild, we can provide a list of expenses so supporters know EXACTLY where their donations go.

Thank you all for the messages and well wishes you have sent our way; we are truly grateful for the calls and messages of concern we have received. We are doing our best to respond to you all, and promise we will in time, but we are also tending to our two and four legged family. We appreciate your understanding in the matter.

We are heartbroken, we are devastated, we are overwhelmed. But more importantly, we are strong and we are resilient. The dogs faith in us is unwavering, just as ours is in them. Our family will preserver.
