Macclesfield Volunteer Fire Department has been a staple in the small community of Macclesfield, North Carolina for many years. On the morning of September 16, 2018, a fire was spotted at the station. Over the course of about four hours, the fire destroyed the fire station.

The amount of support from local fire departments was amazing. Pinetops,Conetoe, Fountain, Bakertown, Speed, West Edgecombe, South Edgecombe, and Tarboro fire departments all assisted in trying to save the fire station.

Virtually all of the equipment and three out of four fire trucks were destroyed. While insurance will help cover equipment and trucks, the fire department will need help in building a new fire station. The station that they were in was old and in need of expanding.

All of the members are volunteer and have dedicated many hours of their personal time to serve the community of Macclesfield. They have always been there for us, now it is our time to be there for them.
