Dear friends of Rebecca,
This is a community fundraiser for Rebecca, and her son Quinn, offered by her friends, clients and the overall community who love her!
Rebecca and Quinn are headed into a particularly challenging yet potentially transformative time these next few months. Quinn has been battling re-occurring stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma and is about to go through an extensive bone marrow transplant process at UCSF. This is the opportunity to clear him of the disease once and for all.
Rebecca plans to significantly reduce her work schedule over the next period of time in order to care for Quinn. We would like to raise funds to support her to not have to work as she cares for Quinn during this intensive process.
Overall it is a ten week procedure. Starting on April 4th, Quinn will have two weeks of out patient work. Following this, he will be in ICU at UCSF in isolation for 4 weeks, and then will live, with Rebecca, in a hospitality house near the hospital where he will be in recovery for 4 weeks. Rebecca will be the primary caregiver by Quinn’s side 24/7: cooking meals, doing laundry, distributing medications, taking his temperature, making sure there’s no infection, etc.
Rebecca has stated: “it is my intention to take a leave of absence for the privilege of being Quinn’s caregiver. This for sure will be a financial hardship, but there is no one else I trust with the job.”
This is our chance to support this wonderful woman with all she gives to so many. We had to press Rebecca several times to get her to agree to receive support and we are hoping to offer her a fraction of the love she offers so many.
