Bones Theatre Needs Your Help due to COVID19

On February 22, 2007, Bones Theatre opened its doors and began showing movies for the greater Whitley County area. Bones Theatre has employed hundreds of people over the years, often their first job. What a joy it is to provide employment to someone, let alone their first real job!
The vision for our business was simple; to provide a safe place for families to come and enjoy a movie with great customer service, a clean building, and a top shelf cinema experience locally. We are a small- town business. Each month a portion of our concession revenue is donated to charities within our community. We have sponsored numerous events over the years, hosted “After Prom” for Columbia City High School students, worked with the high school Film class to showcase their creations, participated in the “Adopt A Highway” program along Hwy 30, given away free tickets each week through our e-mail update, and of course, provided a Free Family Film Festival each summer. It’s been a labor of love!
Fast forward to today and we find ourselves in uncharted waters of a pandemic. Hollywood has not released a new movie since early March, and is unlikely to return to a regular schedule of new movie releases until spring/summer of 2021. During this time, we have been showing older movies at a reduced price, and while this has kept the doors open, it will not allow us to meet all of our financial obligations.
Even in the best of times, it can be difficult to survive as a small business and we now face an uncertain future. I want to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to keep Bones Theatre open and filling a vital role in the quality of life for Columbia City and the surrounding communities. Unfortunately, even after receiving stimulus help available to us through federal and state relief, it will not be enough to survive these unprecedented times until the movie theatre experience has normalized itself. We need your help!!!
We would be grateful if you could help us to continue to spread joy, provide employment, circulate our monies locally, and allow what other communities our size do not have…a great movie theatre.
