Cristina's Medical Expenses

Cristina passed away on October 15, 2017. Around 7am or 8am in the Philippines. We would like to thank each and every one who has shared and donated. We are now campaigning for the release of her body and a proper burial. Our goal amount had significantly decreased, and we are now halfway there. If you could please continue to share to reach as many people as we can, we might be able to bring Cristina's body home sooner, so that she may finally rest in peace. God bless you all.
Cristina is our high school classmate who has always been full of joy despite damning circumstances. She is kind, generous, and always ready to lend a helping hand in whichever way she can. Despite her beautiful soul and the smile she never seems to be short of, she had been struck with Miliary Tuberculosis; a widespread dissemination of the TB bacteria. In Cristina's case, the infection had spread throughout the body, especially in the lungs and other organs. As of August, the infection had reached her intestines, causing it to leak and adhere to each other. As of this morning, she is in critical condition, and her mother had feared the worst. She needs a higher level of care, but due to insurmountable hospital expenses, the hospital would not let her leave without paying the bills. This is the healthcare system in the Philippines, which is appalling. Her family has no one to turn to for help, and our friends have been donating blood to help with the hospital bills. The funds raised in this campaign will allow her to pay the hospital bill and leave so she can transfer to a hospital with a higher level of care. Once we reach the goal, we will send the money ASAP, so as not to accrue any additional charges with her prolonged hospital stay.
