Seattle-to-Portland EWH Charity Ride

Hello friends, family, and casual acquaintances,

I'm preparing for one of the biggest challenges of my lifetime. I'm going to be starting the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic on July 14, but with an added degree of difficulty: I plan to complete the ride that same day. That's right, 204 miles on a bicycle in a single day. When I think of all of the obstacles I will need to overcome to finish this ride, I think of the hills, the distance, the chafing, the heat, and the intense psychological battle I must wage from deep within against the physical discomfort, monotony, and exhaustion that will steadily oppose my every move for over 14 hours. But mostly, I think of the chafing.

I'm asking your support in this endeavor, in that my effort will not be wasted solely in demonstration that I'm el hombre más duro that you know. Please consider a donation to my favorite charity/employer, Engineering World Health. Engineering World Health is a great cause that improves healthcare in developing countries through training on the repair and maintenance of life-saving medical equipment. Here's a story I wrote recently on the recent successes of the project I manage in Honduras.

Every penny counts! If you donate a penny for every mile I ride, that's $2.04. A Honduran Lempira for every mile would work out to $10.71. If you're a big spender, consider at least a dime or a quarter for every mile, $20.40 or $51, respectively.
