Help Us Help Oakland Kids

Tax deductible
On May 20th, the RBO van used to transport sports equipment, nutrition, and training gear for 200+ Oakland youth was stolen from the Oakland YMCA parking garage. The van with the big blue shoe print, which any Oakland resident will recognize from a Saturday morning at Lake Merritt- gone.

The Oakland Police Department recovered the van on June 1st. However, once a van full of running gear and nutrition necessary for fueling 200+ students and volunteers, now damaged and bare. Among the items stolen: 62 Lululemon yoga mats, running hurdles, reusable water bottles, GU/Clif nutrition gels, and boxes of RBO t-shirts. Including van damages and total inventory loss, RBO's total loss from this incident is about $30,000.

This is the second time this year the RBO van has gone through hardship. On Jan. 11th, thieves broke into the van, resulting in $5,000 in damages.

We are relying on our community to support us, just as you always have. Funds will go towards purchasing new equipment, nutrition, and youth training gear. Any little bit helps. As always, we appreciate your support!
