Carter's Top Surgery

Hello everyone! My name is Carter Lee and I am looking to raise funds for top surgery. To keep it short, "top surgery" is a gender-affirming procedure for trans people. Its technical term is a "mastectomy" and my chest will be made more masculine looking. 

I struggle with gender dysphoria, which means I feel a strong disconnect between my gender identity and the body I was given. I bind every day because seeing myself with a flat chest gives me confidence and simply put, just feels right. It's hard to explain how uncomfortable and heartbreaking it is to look at myself when I have to take breaks from binding every night. I need top surgery so I can stop risking damage to my chest and so I can be happy in my own skin. Becoming the most authentic version of myself is something I'm working very hard towards, and top surgery is a very important milestone to my progress. 
Although it is a major surgery and will take time to recover from, the results of this surgery are something I very much look forward to. 

Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover all the costs, and this isn't something I am able to pay for out of pocket. Swallowing a great amount of pride, I am asking the community around me to help me get there. If all goes to plan, I'd plan to have this surgery in the spring. Any amount helps!
