Royal Ballet dancer injury recovery, back on stage

Hi my name is Chi katsura and I’m a dancer with the Royal Ballet. I have been experiencing complications with my injury in the last 3 years and have been working very hard to battle through each hurdle and ultimately wish to return back to stage to do what I love most.

I experienced my 1st tibial stress fracture back in 2019 which took me off dancing completely for 13 months. This meant that timing wise - I was rehabbing through a global pandemic which had a huge Impact on my rehabilitation program. However, thankfully I did manage to return back on stage until the third lockdown hit.

Unfortunately in April of that year, I found out that my fracture had returned which meant yet another year off, as well as a Tibial Intramedullary Nailing surgery. This surgery involved placing a metal rod through my shin.

Although it was necessary for me to undergo this surgery, I then experienced even more complications. As you can tell, this ordeal has taken its toll on my physical and mental health, therefore I wish to move on from this as soon as possible.

After trying several treatments, lots have got me closer to my goal which is getting back on stage but I’m at a stale point in the final process. Im now perusing a series of PRP injections which has been known to treat the tendon issue that I’m experiencing but it is an expensive endeavour that is out of my budget.

If there is any way, small or big, that you could help me reach my goal it would be so greatly appreciated! Dancing is who I am, and I love being able to move an audience and be an artist. But this one hurdle is making it very difficult to return. I am almost there! Please help in any way you can or if you cannot help please share!
