Raymond's Funeral and Expenses Fund

Donation protected

On early afternoon Friday, June 23, 2017 my brother Raymond Torralba and his family (wife, son, and mother-in-law) were on their way home from lunch. He had complained about a headache that was increasing in pain. The paramedics and fire trucks rushed Raymond to the hospital. Later, the doctors and nurses informed us that Raymond’s severe headache was due to high blood pressure. This resulted in an intracranial hemorrhage, a bleeding in his brain, and shortly thereafter he fell into a coma. Although, the medical staff informed us that this condition was not survival we continued praying, visiting with him, and sharing stories with him in hopes that he would wake up.

Unfortunately, Monday, June 26, 2017 Raymond was declared brain dead. Because he was a registered organ donor, it gave us more time to be by his bedside. On the morning of June 29, 2017 Raymond donated his organs, which were able to save and improve the lives of others.

For those of you who came by to visit Raymond in the hospital, I know that he appreciated the conversations, memories, and prayers.

Raymond was 37 with his birthday coming up in August. It hurts when I see how much my brother’s wife of 11 years and 10 years old son miss him. My nephew, Zeke, is a child with autism. He hasn’t quite grasped that his father is never coming home. If you ask Zeke “Where is your daddy?” He will tell you “He’s in heaven.” Yet, every now and then he looks for Raymond and asks for him.

My name is Chefarlyn, I am Raymond’s little sister. I had stayed in the hospital with Ferdinand (my other brother) watching and waiting for our big brother to wake up. I thought if I could do little things here and there, such as rubbing his feet, massaging his arms, or squeezing his hands that we’d witness a medical miracle and then Raymond would finally wake up. I had a different relationship with my big brother, when he needed help I did everything and anything I could to help him. It’s been difficult having to accept that not only that Raymond is gone but even more painful that I was not able to help him or save him. But what I can do now is try to help his family, which is why I am asking for your kindness and generosity in helping Raymond’s family and me with his funeral and medical expenses.

His funeral services will be held:
Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 12-3 PM at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E. St, Anchorage, Alaska .

Any amount you can spare is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all, for your condolences and support.
