Ray Turns 50! Get him a Telecaster!

Raymundo Tamez.... To some of you he is family, to others he is a friend. Maybe you have performed with him or are one of the many, off stage, who have enjoyed watching him perform. As a student, maybe you know him as Mr. Tamez, your university classical performance guitar teacher. If you know him at all then you know how true the words "selfless and magnanimous" are in describing him. I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Ray and have enjoyed the blessing of his dear friendship for more than 22 years!
For a long while Ray has been wanting a Fender American Telecaster Guitar! His 50th birthday is next month on Oct 4th and I can think of no better material gift than this guitar with which to honor this amazing human being! Help partner with us in making this birthday gift a possiblity!
I recently shared with Ray what Elliott Easton (lead guitarist of The Cars) said in reference to the sound of a Fender Telecaster, he said, “It is honest...” Those of you that know Ray can say the same of him! He is honest, genuine, sweet, selfless... the real deal! So it is in this spirit that I have selected what I think is the perfect guitar for him! Moreover, I know the general specs that he prefers as a guitarist.
The first option below would be ideal! It has the exposed pine wood making it a “one of a kind” natural wood grain color. With this, as well as the original vintage pick up which Fender put on the first Telecasters "sustains" our “genuine” theme!
Here are a couple of options starting with the higher price point between $2000-$2300:

The specific guitar we get will be determined by the amount of money we raise. Obviously there are many other Telecasters at different price points. While I did show examples from Amazon we will try to buy “local” first if that option is available. However it is very subjective because of price, availability, etc.... Also, should the “shoe not fit” and he wants or needs to exchange the Tele for a different one I want to make sure we buy from a place that will give him that option but I think he will be very happy either way!
Any additional $ raised will be used for a guitar case, gig bag, strings, etc... Specific accounting of all this will be shared with you "the contributor"." Your name and contribution will be included on a card that will be given to Ray on the evening of his birthday!
Let’s do this! Let’s put a “made in the U.S.A.” Telecaster in the hands of a talented man that is sure to jump up and down and rock us with it!
