Raymond Hagen, my grandfather, was one of the kindest people I have ever met in my entire life. To sum up the impact that he made in a single page is nearly impossible.
He was a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a son, an uncle, a cousin, a hero, and most of all, a faithful servant of the Lord.
He was one of those people who would light up a room just by walking in, and if that wasn't enough, he'd always have a funny story or joke just to make you smile. His energy was contagious.
Ray loved his family, friends, and church family more than anything. He would do anything for them, as he did most of his days, and you'd never hear an unkind or negative comment from him about anyone or anything.
There is not a person who was more generous with their time. He just wanted to help others and do whatever he could to make their day a little better, even if it was for a complete stranger.
He was so intelligent and innovative. Every time we would talk, he would have some new amazing idea for his latest and greatest groundbreaking project or book.
My grandfather loved life and lived every day like it was his last. Unfortunately, last Sunday, December 8th, 2019 was that last day. Ray passed away due to heart surgery complications.
Although his passing has left us heartbroken, we know that he was carried off by angels to Heaven. Ray was never scared of death, as he was absolutely thrilled that one day he would be with Jesus forever. We know that he is smiling down upon us, not wanting us to mourn, but to celebrate his new life that has just begun.
A celebration of life service will be held early on in the New Year after the family makes arrangements.
