UPDATE… Monday 4/8

I spoke to Dawn a couple of hours ago.

Ray was admitted into the hospital through the E.R, Saturday evening.

The issue that sent him to the ER has been stabilized, while they are conducting a few more procedures.

The hope is to get him in to be seen by the oncologist as early as possible, once he is released, so that the main issue, his lung cancer can be addressed.

Then his truest fight begins.

I personally, am looking towards the day when he feels well enough again to tell you himself, how precious each and every one of you are to have helped during this time of incredible need.

UPDATE… Wednesday 4/3

Ray and Dawn are overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude for all of you, through the encouragement from so many who have reached out with supportive words, sharing, and financial assistance during such difficult economic times.

I just received an update from Dawn Garton.

It has been officially confirmed that Ray has advanced lung cancer. They are not sure if, or how much it has spread to his other organs. Ray and Dawn are waiting for the imaging clinic to call with his PET scan appointment so they can discover if it may have spread. So, they are waiting for his Dr's to give them a plan of treatment, but as of right now they have only said radiation and chemotherapy.

He has good days, and he has bad days, his pain is almost unbearable.

My name is Rhonda and I’m hoping we can rally together to support one of my nearest and dearest friends, Ray Garton.

He and his devoted wife Dawn, are facing a challenging health battle that has created a significant financial strain.

Doctors have found rapidly growing masses on each adrenal gland, as well as his left lung. They are currently awaiting biopsy results.

As they courageously confront this difficult journey, we hope to alleviate some of the burdens weighing on their shoulders.

Dawn is the one employed outside of the home. During this difficult time of tests, biopsies, and hospital stays she has continually been by Ray’s side as his much needed support.

Our fundraiser aims to provide tangible assistance during this time of need, offering financial relief to cover medical expenses, treatments, and any other necessities that arise; groceries, utilities, etc.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference in Ray’s fight against this illness. Together, let’s show him the unwavering love and support of the horror community as he navigates through what may prove to be the most challenging chapter of his life.
