Rattler snake bite tragedy!

Hello my name is Sabrina. I am 52 years old, divorced and 100% dedicated to my three daughters/best friends.

I would describe my life as incredibly blessed. I have three daughters who are the most amazing people in the world and we love each other fiercely, I have gotten to live my dream in working with horses, I even have a Yorkie dog who is my best little friend. Though in the past things can be described as “well this makes you a character” such as buying gas with nickels and dimes to get to and from school or living off only eggs as the grocery account was empty and the chickens did need them like we did.

Every day I am alive I strive and fight to build something so that when I die my kids, my favorite people in the whole world will have something, though they have repeatedly said they do not need physical proof of my love I want it for them more than anything.

As I said before I am a horse lover and with that comes many injuries, I could bore you with listing them but GoFundMe doesn’t allow that many characters I’d bet. My main debilitating injuries include torn ACL’s in both knees, only one has been repaired, two torn rotator cuffs, 6 and 8 millimeter bulge in my back - I had an 11 millimeter bulge that was fixed, if the others were to be fixed and fused I would be unable to even bend over. These injuries and many more keep me from doing typical jobs that include lifting, standing for long periods of time, sitting for long periods or even walking, cooking is even a chore that leaves me gasping in agony. As luck would have it horses, though the reason for my many injuries are the only thing that lesson the constant severe pain I’m in. With all that said I have never been able to afford health care and usually suffer at home curled in a ball of pain waiting for it to lesson enough to get back to work.

At this point you are asking yourself, so whats the point? What do you want help with? Well my luck turned sour recently and on Tuesday August 1st at approximately 2:30pm I was struck in the hand by a Southern Pacific Rattler aka California’s most common and dangerous snake. Why the most dangerous you ask? The antivenin that is produced to save lives include venom from many different snakes HOWEVER this specific type of snake IS NOT included in this list there for making the antivenin that much more unpredictable. I have had a lot of injuries and many very horrific and life threatening, nothing has compared to the fear I felt laying on that bed gasping for breath as the emergency staff tried to save my life and thats what they did as I could feel my body giving up and shutting down. Through the efforts of my close friend, 84 year old mother and 25 year old daughter I am breathing here today. My daughter admitted to me once I was in ICU and stable that she “Pinched and hit me” while racing to the nearest medical attention just trying to keep my body breathing as I continued to try and lapse into unconsciousness, this is something that will haunt me as much as it will haunt her. Though I was hardly aware I know I owe my life to them.

Once at the hospital they began the up hill battle of bringing me back, through vomit, blood and tears they administered the antivenin that rings in at $10,000 a vial, to save my life I needed 48. How much does a life cost? To my kids it was everything they have, had or will have, with only my middle daughter to watch proceedings my other daughters waited anxiously on the other line screaming that any price to save me was a price they were willing to find... the horrific job fell to my middle child to tell them that I might not make it.

My family stayed strong and fought for me to fight for myself but unfortunately the fight isn’t over. Along with the $480,000 for the antivenin, there was the ambulance ride, over 24 hours in ICU and another 24 hours in the trauma/surgery unit AND to top it all off not only do I need further check ups but an injury of this nature may impact me for the rest of my life. Though my daughters and close family are fighting to untangle the monetary mess I’ve found myself in, while I fight for my health, I fear it wont be enough.

Suffer in silence has always been my Moto but through urging of family members and close friends who have followed my struggles and most of all perseverance I have created this GoFundMe page. Anything anyone can spare would be more then a blessing, I’ve never felt that the world owed me anything more then the three blessings I find in every seconds of having my daughters but I come on my knees asking for help.
