Rasheda's Medical Fund
A devoted wife, mother and friend needs your help. On January 22, 2015, Rasheda Blocker Hughes arrived home from work feeling a little under the weather. She told her mom that she had been vomiting in the car and had the worst headache of her life. Shortly after this conversation, Rasheda passed out and was immediately rushed to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment via ambulance. On that night, her husband, James, two small children and her parents would soon realize that their worst nightmare had come true. Rasheda’s family and friends were informed of the tragic news that she had suffered a grade 5 brain aneurysm. A brain aneurysm is often described as a bulge or ballooning of an artery in the brain that ruptures. A grade 5 aneurysm is the most severe form of an aneurysm that one can have and its results are often fatal.
Since January, Rasheda has been in a comatose state and life flighted to a local Atlanta area hospital system that is better equipped to handle brain trauma. Rasheda's condition has been slowly improving but her recovery will be extensive. This family is in need of your financial support as her medical expenses continue to skyrocket daily and quickly approaching $1,000,000 which has created an unexpected financial burden. Several of the medical surgeries and procedures that have been performed in an attempt to restore her health have not been fully covered which has created additional out of pocket expenses for the family. Any financial support you are willing to give to assist them with managing through their tragic experience will be greatly appreciated.
