Help Barney walk again!

Just yesterday, our amazing, lovable family dog Barney suddenly became unable to walk. Over the course of 2 hours, he went from walking normal, to being completely unable to move or control his back legs or tail. The vet immediately diagnosed Barney with a ruptured disc. The vet suggested surgery after the diagnosis was confirmed with an MRI (the MRI alone costs 1,900 to 2,500 dollars). According to the vet and my research, dogs who have surgery quickly have a very good chance of fully recovering and not being permanently paralyzed. The ruptured disc in his back is currently blocking nerve impulses that control his back half,  causing him to be paralyzed. The pain and immobility also make it difficult for him to use the bathroom, and hard for him to eat and drink. The vet at Virginia Teach say the MRI and surgery will cost 5,000 dollars. 
Barney is a young, active dog who loves to play outside and run around.Please help to save our Barney Boy and help him walk again.
