Hello Friends,
On Wednesday, December 20th my husband John was admitted to the hospital after asking to be driven to the hospital complaining of weakness. Our seventeen year old son and I picked him up from work and drove him straight to Kaiser.
Drs ran lab work, performed an ekg, a chest X-ray, ultrasound of his kidneys and bladder, and an echocardiogram.
He was diagnosed with demand ischemia, uncontrolled hypertension, and stage five renal failure. John was admitted into the hospital and spent two nights there before coming home Friday. Within hours of coming home it was evident that he was not stable to be home and as much as it hurt us to, we brought him back into the er at which time he was readmitted.
We spoke at great length with his nephrologist and the patient care coordinator about his diagnosis. He needs to have a port placed surgically on Christmas morning to begin life saving dialysis until such time as he can recieve a kidney transplant.
He is now dealing with fluid retention in his lungs and extremities.
Neither John, nor I will be able to work until he either starts dialysis or has a Kidney transplant. You can imagine how difficult this is, and I am already very worried about how the impact this is having on us financially, and what we will do about the already overwhelming medical expenses, housing, food, etc. The cost for him to be admitted to the hospital was $1,200. Hes been admitted twice.
I am appealing to you for help. Please, for John, myself and our family. Your donation will help us out tremendously. It'll relieve so much stress so that we can focus on getting John healthy again. Thank you everyone in advance. We love all of you and pray that we get through this.
