Randy’s final expenses and cancer bills

Donation protected
I would like to introduce you to Randy MacDonald. Randy is 36 years old, newly married and has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 gastrointestinal esophageal cancer caused by acid reflux that he didn’t know that he had. This cancer spread to his liver, lungs and lymph nodes. After meeting with the oncologist, it was determined that the first step would be chemotherapy. Half way through the treatment, the cancer was completely out of his lungs and the cancer in his lymph nodes and liver had shrunk. Upon completion of chemotherapy, those tumors had again shrunk. 2 weeks after chemotherapy completion, Randy was admitted into the hospital for 5 days for being neutropenic. His counts were far too low and he had high fevers. They never found the source but said it was POSSIBLE that the fevers were from his body killing tumors. However, a pain in his stomach progressively got worse. Another endoscopy was scheduled and it showed that the esophageal tumor had grown. It was recommended that Randy begin radiation. He recently had to undergo a blood transfusion as he only had 5 pints of blood in his entire body. His doctors have high hopes for him! His age (and eternal positive attitude) is a huge factor in his recovery. As you can imagine, the cost of saving his life is mounting and we are now asking for help. Randy’s doctors have repeatedly recommended that he take time off work to allow his body time to recover but we simply cannot afford for him to do so. We have regular bills on top of the medical bills we are amassing.
Currently, we have about $35,000 in medical bills just from the chemo and scans they have done. That doesn’t include the radiation, the hospital stays and the scans we are awaiting on the bills for. We also cannot afford medicine that would help with his pain & nausea which is $577 for a 1 month supply. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this page goes a long way! Please keep Randy in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to battle this horrible disease!
With Randy about to begin round 2 of chemo, the amount will increase. The last round cost $25,000 but the frequency of this round is more than the last so it would be speculation on what round 2 of chemo will cost. On 11/3/19 randy was admitted into the hospital for complications with his liver as a result of the tumors in his liver. His liver was failing and as a result, his kidneys began to fail. On 11/6/19 Randy passed away while in home hospice. Any help with his medical bills is greatly appreciated
