Randy Solomon's Medical Expenses

As many of you know, Dad has had ongoing heart "issues". From having both heart valves replaced, one replaced twice, to a pacemaker. Most recently an infection on the artificial valves was discovered. What you may or may not know is that last summer we were told that with the infection the valves needed to be replaced once again. However with the type of infection the surgery has become even more of a high risk surgery. Local Dr's (including Shands) were reluctant to do surgery. Without the surgery, best guess was he might have a year. His local cardiac surgeon reached out to Cleveland Clinic (which is apparently THE place to go). We finally heard back, we were expecting him to go for a consult and then come back for surgery at a later date. Though they now want him there June 5th for the consult and June 7th is his actual surgery date!

With everything happening all at once and in such a short time for preparation. We are expecting for dad and mom to be in Cleveland for 2-3 weeks for dad's surgery and recovery. The expenses for flights, hotel, meals, rental car and bills that will begin to add up during this time is something we wish for dad not to have to worry about. The Love & Support we can help provide for these days will take a load of worry from their shoulders. Knowing mom is safe and by his side he will continue to heal and we can get him home sooner. Jeff, Jennifer and other family members will join them for a week to help in anyway they can to get dad and mom settled for the weeks of recovery. Please keep our family in your prayers!
