Randy Ogan Memorial Fund

My Dad (Randy Ogan) was taken from this world far to soon. He was just 61.  Never been in the hospital for anything serious, never had much more than a cold or a flu.  The middle of December he began to not feel well and thought he had just over did it a little.  He quickly became sicker and we had to admit him to Flower Mound Presbyterian Hospital.  He was positive for Covid19 as well as my mother and my brother.  While my Mom and Brother recovered my Dad fought for his life in the hospital for 4 weeks alone.  No family could be near him.  We did our best to support him from afar, but it’s just not the same.  He lost his battle with Covid19 on January 11, 2021 at 10:01 am.  He now is with his Heavenly Father and in pain no more.  My Dad didn’t deserve to go like this.  No one deserves to go like this or to watch their family member go this way.  It’s been the most incredibly difficult time of our lives.  We did all the things we could to protect him and ourselves from this virus but it still wasn’t enough.  Now we are left with the burden of not only the immense grief but also the real world responsibilities that come along with losing someone.  The financial tolls that we are left to deal with are unreal.   The process of getting his death certificate even has become difficult.  It will be several weeks if not months before we will have this to show proof that he’s gone so that we have access to accounts, to gain the title to his car etc. etc. so that we as a family can try to alleviate this financial burden that has now become my moms.  My Dad was the most giving man I have ever known.  Constantly would give the shirt off his back just to make another human smile.  He spread kindness everywhere he went.  He never asked for anything in return and always took care of others.   In his memory we are asking that now we all can take care of what he would want most. To make sure that my Mom is ok.  To make sure that she doesn’t go through this alone and doesn’t take on all the financial stresses alone.  To help with the memorial expenses and allow not only her to grieve but for all of us to grieve.  To remember my Dad by doing what he did best which was to give.  I know that is how I will continue to honor his legacy...to give when I can and to spread kindness always.  Dad we love you and we will see you again.
