SUMMARY

Randy is the more experienced professor at our small Vocational Institute. He is a great team player, always willing to help, and very loved among the students.

On the morning of August 1st, 2018, Randy was rushed to the emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital with shortness of breath and weakness. He spent the next three days intubated and sedated for an infection that nearly cost him his life.

Randy has beat this deadly condition, but his mobility is seriously affected. He needs a health aide to assist with basic needs at home, transport him to the hospital and specialized equipment such as a wheelchair, lift chair, bed and bathroom safety items, while he works on rehab to gain back his mobility.

Funds raised will pay for these items and get him through this rough time. A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who reads and donates . All the professors and students are anxious to have Randy back, and your help really means the world.

ABOUT RANDY

Randy Ferrer is a coding instructor at TECHLAUNCH.IO, a small vocational institute located in Miami. He is an amazing man with a brilliant mind. His family, friends, colleagues and students are all eager for him to return home and fully recover. He is currently not working, but is anxious to return to work when he gets home. There is no insurance coverage after he leaves the hospital. This has taken a huge toll on his finances and he could use a little help to get back on his feet.

THE STORY

Early on the morning of August 1st, 2018, Randy was rushed to the emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital with shortness of breath and weakness. Doctors worked quickly to diagnose and treat him. Later that morning he was admitted to the ICU after a procedure to insert a PICC line. He spent the next 3 days intubated and sedated. He was given massive doses of antibiotics and fluids to help quickly kill the infection. He was diagnosed with severe systemic septic shock due to and untreated staph infection in his blood. This infection nearly cost him his life.

GOING HOME

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Randy is ready to be released from the hospital after a very long stay. He will require extra help when he returns home. He will need a health aide to assist with basic needs, transport him to the hospital weekly for testing and treatments, and help with rehabilitation. He will also require some specialized equipment such as a wheelchair, lift chair, bed and bathroom safety items. Funds raised will be used to pay for these items and get him through this rough time.
